Scott joined Vision 20/20 because he wants to challenge the status quo through his work and was looking for structure to help him do that. This is his story.

I wanted a clearer definition of the path

I was looking for a way of understanding, “What is my work to do? And how does that fit in the context of me, 41 years old, having done everything that I've done so far?”

I was looking for something. But I didn't know where or how. And after our conversation, I then knew that you guys had a framework, a scaffolding, if you like.

I'm an accountant at the end of the day. I do like structure.

So to have someone say, “Look, you're going to do the work, you're going to find the answers, but here's how," it was the how that was important for me.

You provide the framework and the safety net at the bottom, and we then build things around that.

I have more certainty than I've had in a long while

I have a passion, a belief that I'm doing the right thing. A conviction that I'm doing the right thing. I'm now confident enough to say that I'm going to do it, whatever it is.

Before, there would be a nervousness or a hesitation about upsetting or alienating people. Working through the program has helped that dissipate.

Having to spend the time looking inward meant that I now know with every fibre of my being that what I’m doing and saying is correct.

And I haven't had that conviction before.

I'm genuinely a different person than I was before the course

I really enjoyed that the program signposts, “Maybe this is a door that you want to open and go through and do a bit of deeper work.”

Don't get me wrong, it's hard because you're asking the big questions.

But if you do it properly, then these are the biggest questions that we can ask from our business and from ourselves.

They're the most important, and they're probably buried quite deep inside because we don't like to ask those big questions.

But I'm quite happy to. So being given the guidance that you guys have created as part of this course was just perfect for me.

Could I afford it? That was the only reservation

Every other part of me, apart from my wallet in my pocket, was saying it's the right thing.

So, I found the money. I know it was an investment in me. It will pay off.

It might not pay off tomorrow, but it is going to pay off. And investing in myself is the best use of any money that anyone can give me.

The whole process is something that everyone should do

Something that I naturally do is put things in my own way. But I decided that I was going to jump into the deep end of the swimming pool and just embrace everything that came with it. That was actually quite liberating, as an experience.

And I’m sad that not nearly enough people will go through this inward journey. Yes, I'm very lucky, and I was privileged to go on it.

But it should be a path that so many people take, and there’s your testimonial right there.
